Pink Drinks and how to make it

The Pink Breeze

Ingredients:
  1. 5-6 Large Strawberries (Fresh or Frozen) + more for Garnish
  2. 1 Cup Ice Cubes (About 8-10)
  3. 3 oz Pina Colada Mix
  4. 3 oz White Rum ( We used Puerto Rican White Rum) [Optional: If  you want an Alcoholic Drink]
*Note:   Fresh Pineapple & Coconut Milk may be used to substitute the Pina Colada Mix.

Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients above & blend them in a blender.
It will a be Frozen Drink.
Garnish with Strawberries of any of your favorite fruit. 


Pomegranate Cooler

Ingredients:
  1. 1.5  Cup Pomegranate Juice chilled (Or 1/2 Cup Cranberry Juice chilled + 1 Cup Pom Juice Chilled)
  2. A Fistful of Mint Leaves
  3. 1/2 Teaspoon Fresh Ginger Juice
  4. Sprite or any Lime Soda chilled
  5. Ice
  6. Sugar or Honey to Taste
  7. 1/2 Teaspoon of Orange Blossom Water (Optional)
Alcoholic Version:
Add:
1 ounce of Vodka + 1/2 Ounce of Orange Liqueur


Preparation:
Muddle the mint leaves (with sugar or honey if you are using it).
Combine the pomegranate, cranberry juice, orange blossom water (if you are using it)  & ginger juice with the mint leaves. Add Ice & Give it a good shake shake shake.
(for the alcoholic version, add the vodka & the liqueur along with the juice & other things)
Pour it in to individual glasses, half glass each. Fill it up with Sprite or any Lime Soda.  Garnish with mint leaves.



Strawberry Daiquiri

Ingredients:
  1. 8-10 strawberries, fresh or frozen – washed and hulled
  2. 2 oz pineapple juice
  3. 2 oz Seven Up/Sprite/any lime or lemon based soda
  4. 2-3 cubes ice
  5. 3 tablespoons sugar (or as per taste)
  6. 2 oz rum (preferably white rum)


Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.
Serve chilled.


Flor de Jamaica Beverage

To make the Sorrel Punch:
Ingredients:
  1. 2 cups dried sorrel flowers
  2. 1/4 cup fresh gingerroot, peeled and chopped
  3. 1 stick cinnamon
  4. 4 whole cloves
  5. 1 cup sugar
  6. 6 cups water
  7. 1 1/2 to 2 cups over-proof Jamaican rum (or any of your favorite dark rum)
  8. Lemon, lime and orange slices, for garnish
Preparation:
In a large, heat-proof  bowl, combine the sorrel, the ginger, the cinnamon stick the cloves and the sugar. Set aside.
Bring the water to a boil and pour it over the sorrel, spices and sugar. Allow the mixture to cool. Cover the bowl and let and let the punch steep for two days.
Strain the mixture through a fine cheesecloth and return the liquid to the  bowl.
Stir in the rum. Cover once more and allow the mixture to stand for two more days.
Strain the punch a final time and place it in the refrigerator to chill.
Serve the Sorrel Punch over glasses full of crushed ice, with garnishes of lemon, lime and orange slices.





If you do not want the  Rum, just have the Refreshing Tea.
To make the TEA:
Ingredients:
  1. 1/2 Cup Dried Flower of Jamaica
  2. 4 Cups water
  3. 1/3 Cup Sugar (more or less)
  4. Lime & Fresh Mint (Optional)
Preparation:
Soak the dried flowers in the water for about 2 hours. (OR boil 2 cups of water, steep the flowers in the water for about 20 minutes. Strain the flowers out & add the other 2 cups of water to the colored water)
Strain out the flowers. Add sugar to the water.
Chill & serve it over Ice.
Garnish with Lime ( or squeeze a few drops of lime juice if you want to more tangy) & mint.
